Shore Excursions

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

There are three way to get excursions on a river cruise.

  1. Go on an upcale cruise line that has from 2 - 4  excursions in the price. These include AMA Waterways, Uniworld, Avalon. you do not need to buy any additional excursions unless there is one so special different that youy want to go on it.

  2. You are on a cruise line that will have none or one excursion and you have a menu of additional excursions to choose from daily. This is the model for Avalon cruise line (upscale) and Viking cruise line (mass market)

  3. Since cruise lines really mark up the excursions you can save money by buying your excursions from a third party provider. There are some very reputable companies that do that. Viator is one and Shore Excursions is another. Viator promises that they will get you back to the ship on time and Shore Excursions give you a guarantee.
